Wired vs wireless smart lighting: which is right for you?
Wired systems
Wired systems — such as those using KNX or DALI protocols — are the gold standard for reliability and longevity. They require installation during a renovation or new build when cabling can be run easily. Wireless retrofit systems

What about smart bulbs?
Consumer smart bulbs — Philips Hue, LIFX, and similar — are perfectly suitable for a first step into smart lighting. They are affordable, easy to install, and work reasonably well for straightforward use cases. The limitations appear when you want reliable control from physical switches, or when you want the level of reliability and integration that consumer products simply do not deliver at scale.
